Background: Began life in 1990 as the B&Q Centenary Cup. Competed for by teams not in the top division. Was called the B&Q Cup for seasons 1991-92 until 1994-95 and then renamed the Scottish League Challenge Cup for 1995-96 season. The competition was scrapped for one season in 1998-99 when a sponsor could not be found.
